Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 May 2026
Climbchess (the "Service") is provided by USOV Family Trust (trading as MRU Consulting), an Australian discretionary trust ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Climbchess is an adaptive chess trainer. It is provided as-is, currently free of charge. We may introduce paid tiers in the future; existing data will not be paywalled retroactively without notice.
2. Your account
You may use the Service anonymously (browser-local only) or sign in via Kinde to sync across devices. You are responsible for keeping your Kinde credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service.
- Don't use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Don't scrape our content for commercial republication.
- Don't attempt to gain access to other users' data.
4. Not advice
Climbchess provides chess training. It is not medical, financial, legal, or professional advice. Don't use it to diagnose conditions or make life decisions.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the prior 12 months (currently zero).
6. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. On termination we delete your sync state within 24 hours.
7. Intellectual property
The Service (code, design, training data, UI text, and concept library) is owned by USOV Family Trust. The underlying SAE-derived concept research is published openly; the curated 320-concept library and training algorithms are proprietary. You may export your own training state at any time.
8. Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for what data we collect and how to delete it.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of NSW unless we mutually agree to confidential arbitration in Sydney.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email if you have signed in. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
